Victory Conference 2008

29th May - 1st June 2008

‘Ain’t no stopping us now!’ was the refrain on everyone’s lips following the resounding success of El-Shaddai Bradford’s major event of the year - Victory Conference 2008, hosted by Pastors Jerome & Ruth Anekwe.

As guests flooded in from all over the UK to attend this spiritually-charged event, the combination of exuberant worship and uncompromising, incisive preaching meant that no one left the building the same way they came in.

Senior Pastor, Dr Ramson Mumba opened the conference with a powerful exhortation to go back to the ‘old path’ and develop faith in all that the blood of Jesus has accomplished for us. Pastor Ruth Anekwe used the life of Joshua to address the paralysing effect that fear can have in the life of a believer and encouraged delegates to be strong and very courageous and let nothing stop them from claiming their inheritance. Dr Anekwe then continued to show people how to get the victory by spending quality time in the presence of God and seeking His face.

As guest speaker Dr Pat Francis began to preach with prophetic authority on God’s plan to prosper His children, she also used Joshua as her example and declared in the spirit that we are the ‘Joshua Generation’. Before long she had the whole congregation on their feet, boldly proclaiming in song, ‘Ain’t no stopping us now – we’re on the move, we’re on the move!’ The evening culminated with Dr Francis ministering to all those who felt trapped in generational cycles of poverty and lack.

On Saturday morning Dr Francis continued to give prophetic instruction on how to rule our world with our words and be strategic in what we say. She encouraged everyone present to look out for God’s ‘clues and cues’ and closed her session by getting people to literally ‘step’ into a new realm of victory and prosperity.

As Dr Francis left Bradford to return to Mississauga, Canada, our other guest speaker, Pastor George Matthews, from Bessemer, Alabama arrived to bring the first of two powerful messages on ‘The Abundant Life’, skilfully demonstrating that as citizens of the kingdom and legal owners of the whole earth, we have some clearly defined rights that have been purchased for us by the blood of Jesus.

Dr Mumba continued on the theme of getting the victory through the blood of Jesus on Saturday evening and then on Sunday morning Pastor Matthews concluded his message by showing that the precious commodity that the enemy seeks to steal from us is our understanding of our rights as citizens of the kingdom of God.

As in previous years, the grand finale of Victory Conference 2008 was a Created for Praise concert led by our very own ESICC Worship Team. The presence of God was so heavy in the auditorium that it was difficult to remain standing and, as worshippers fell to their knees in awe of God’s goodness and love, Pastors Jerome and Ruth, operating under an unmistakably powerful anointing, ministered to those who had been bound by addiction for many years and saw people get born again there and then!
