At El-Shaddai we believe in celebrating each other in style and Mothers Day 2009 was an opportunity to honour some very special ladies representing mothers and grandmothers of all ages and backgrounds.

As all the mothers in the house were asked to stand, the children were ushered out to the front to collect a beautiful bunch of hand-tied daffodils which they were able to take back and proudly present to their waiting mums.

To everyone’s delight, a special video message featuring children of all ages was played on the screens and then, against a backdrop of children’s photos, pictures and special messages, Pastors Jerome and Ruth presented stunning gift baskets to selected mums representing the following categories of motherhood: single mothers, young mothers, established mothers and grandmothers.

After Pastors had honoured these precious ladies before the whole church, including proud family members and friends, Dr Anekwe went on to speak on the qualities of a virtuous woman according to Proverbs 31.

One woman’s moving testimony of how God had touched her through a previous Mothers Day service at El-Shaddai served as a wonderful reminder that God can use the smallest gesture to reach out to us in challenging circumstances and communicate His unfailing love.
