Dear parents,
A good man out of the good treasure
of his heart brings forth good
Luke 6:45
The bible says that when we go to be with the Lord we will be accountable for every word that we have spoken. Indeed the bible has a lot to say about the power of the tongue. This small member of the body has the power to bring LIFE or DEATH!!
As parents I know we all want our children to speak life into their situations. It upsets us when we hear our children saying things like ‘I am not good enough’ or ‘I’ll never amount to anything’...NO! We love our children and want the best for them. Let us influence their vocabulary by being careful of what we say, therefore leading by example. Let us show our children how to speak positively, take the time to admonish them in love when they speak negatively. The words they say now have the power to create their future environment and bring healing to their flesh. Let us show our children in the Word what the bible has to say on the matter.
Luke 6:45 concludes by saying “for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Let us therefore pray for the heart of our children that they be filled with the Holy Spirit and the truth of the word. Just take a moment to think about it! How do you feel when someone speaks negatively to you, have you had negative words spoken over you? Do these words bring life or death?
As parents we can pray that the words our children speak bring life to themselves and to those around them. Please pray with me now
Heavenly Father, I pray that Amélie will speak words of encouragement, health and hope, bringing life and blessing to those around her. Fill her heart with your spirit and your truth so that out of the overflow of her heart words of life will come. May Amélie put a guard over her own mouth, may she be quick to listen and slow to speak. Help her to know when to speak and what to say in Jesus’ name. Amen.
This month’s confession comes from Psalms 19:14 AMP “Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight my Rock and my Redeemer.
With every blessing
